While we strive to have as little red tape as possible at the Tom Dolan Swim School, we do have a few rules in our systemized approach to helping all of our customers Swim Thru Life.
Tom Dolan Swim School (the “Swim School”) reserves the right to change or modify any or all of these Policies & Procedures (the “Policies”) at any time. These Policies will not be modified except in writing, as posted on the Swim School website, www.tomdolanswimschool.com (the “Website”). Any change or modification made by the Swim School will be effective immediately upon posting on the Website. Your continued enrollment in the Swim School constitutes (i) your agreement to accept any changes or modifications made, and (ii) your acknowledgement and understanding that it is your responsibility to periodically review the Website and the Policies to learn of any changes.
We are happy to provide all swimmers with one FREE make-up lesson each month*. Make-up lessons can be scheduled after a class is missed. Please keep in mind that we cannot guarantee the same instructor from your monthly lessons, but our free make-ups will help your little swimmer continue to progress and retain that important muscle memory they are learning from our structured curriculum. The monthly fee will be reduced for lessons missed due to the facility being closed for public holidays.
*NOTE: We do not offer make-ups for private lessons, camps or walk-in lessons. Make-up lessons may be booked within 7 days of desired lesson time based on availability. Unused make-up lessons expire after 6 months. Make-up lessons have no cash value and may not be used toward tuition. Make-up lessons are approved at our sole discretion.
Safety at Tom Dolan Swim School
Please be respectful of all other families by making sure your children, whether in lessons or not, are being supervised at all times. A parent or caretaker must check each child in and is responsible for their safety and good behavior unless that child is in the water with their designated instructor. We realize that many of our families have multiple children and that while one child may be in lessons, the other siblings are in the viewing room or around the locker rooms and family change stalls. Our facility can get very busy at times and we want to ensure the safety of all our families so we ask that you always keep your children in sight while they are waiting on their sibling’s lessons to finish.
Locker room usage
Parents and children 5 yrs of age and over must use the locker room of their own sex. We have received complaints after occasions when parents have been in the opposite sex locker room. In addition, we have multiple family change rooms for families to use.
Inclement Weather policy
Our inclement weather policy will not follow any particular school district or government closing. To best serve our families, we will make every attempt to be open regardless of the weather. We will only post an update if we are going to be closed. We will announce closings by 7am for the morning lessons and 1pm for the afternoon lessons. *We will provide the closure update on our website, Facebook page, and Twitter account.* We want all of our families to be safe, so if we are open and you are not able to make it to the swim school because of safety concerns due to inclement weather, our front desk team will be happy to discuss make-up class options with you.
Filming and Photography
I hereby authorize TDSS the right to include me and/or my child in photographs, recordings and videos. I further authorize TDSS to use my or my child’s name, image, likeness, photograph, video and/or voice, in all forms and media used in connection with TDSS advertising, marketing, social media, promotional activities and/or educational use.
All Waterbabies are required to wear both a disposable diaper and a waterproof, reusable diaper. In addition, all children under the age of 3 or any child not yet fully potty trained are required to wear both a disposable and a waterproof, reusable diaper. Please make sure you are buying a reusable diaper that is not too big for your child. The diaper should fit snug around the legs. You can purchase the acceptable reusable diaper at our front desk.
Class Withdrawal Policy
In order to withdraw from your lessons, we require written notice no later than the 15th of the month prior to the month you wish to withdrawal. For example, if you wish to stop your child’s swim lessons at the end of June and not be included in July lessons, you will need to provide written notice of your intent to withdraw, by the 15th of June. A request for withdrawal after the 15th will not be approved. We cannot allow for any exceptions to this rule. You have three options to notify us of your intent to withdraw from your lessons: use the withdrawal form on the TDSS website (under the “Contact” tab), send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org, or fill out a withdrawal form at the front desk.
